Corey is an artist-teacher working in upstate New York. He makes process oriented art in various mediums and sizes. The products in this shop are all based on small drawings made with pen and ink. Born in North Carolina, he moved to NYC after earning his BFA in painting at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. Corey spent 15 years in the NYC art world; working for Christie’s, Sotheby’s, Greene Naftali Gallery, Cora Cohen, and multiple Art Handling companies before leaving the industry to be the primary caregiver for his daughter. Corey and his family left the city in 2019 to live with purpose.

The works are about diversifying pictorial elements while trying not to overthink what they are supposed to be. Allowing freedom in the making. Generally, the markings are dependent on mood. Anxiety, fear, worry, love, loss, sadness, confidence, and happiness all manifest as different marks, texture, shape, or color.

All work is created in the Catskills.
